Corner Optical is an independent retail optical and optometry practice in Glenview, Illinois. We're owned and operated by Kevin Count, Master Optician.

When you become a patient, book an appointment, or contact us, you may give us:
Your name, date of birth, mailing address, phone number, and email address
Health information related to your eye care (prescription history, exam results, medications you take, allergies, family-history details that affect vision)
Insurance details (carrier, plan, member ID) when you want us to bill insurance
Payment information — we use third-party processors and don't store full card numbers
If you visit our website, we may also collect basic browsing information (pages visited, browser type) through standard web analytics. This isn't tied to your identity unless you log in or submit a form.
How we use it
We use your information to:

Send appointment reminders, confirmations, and recall notices

We don't sell your information. We don't share it with marketers. Period.
SMS / text messages
If you give us a phone number on our booking form or in person, you're opting in to receive text messages from Corner Optical about your eye care — appointment confirmations, reminders, reschedule notices, and recall outreach.
Message frequency varies based on your appointments and recall schedule.

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier.
We don't share phone numbers with third parties for marketing.
We don't include sensitive health information directly in text messages. If we need to share something specific, the text will link to a secure page or ask you to call us.
We send appointment-related emails (confirmations, reminders, eye-care updates) to the address you provide. You can unsubscribe from non-urgent emails using the link at the bottom of any message. Appointment-critical emails will still be sent because we need to reach you about your scheduled care.
What we don't do
We don't sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. We don't run ads on our website. We don't share your phone number or email with third parties for their marketing.
We share information only when needed for your care (other providers you've asked us to coordinate with, your insurance carrier, our lab partners for eyewear) or when required by law.

As a health-care provider, Corner Optical also follows the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, given to you at your first visit, explains in detail how we handle protected health information. Ask at the front desk or call us if you'd like another copy.
Children's privacy
We see patients of all ages, including children. When the patient is under 18, we collect the same information from the parent or guardian coordinating their care. We don't knowingly market to children.
Your rights
You can ask to see what we have on file about you, request corrections, or ask us to delete records when we're no longer required to keep them. To make a request, call (847) 998-4737 or email us.
Illinois residents and others under certain state privacy laws may have additional rights — we'll respond to those requests in line with the law.
Data security
We keep your records on systems we control. Patient records sit on secured, encrypted infrastructure. We follow HIPAA security rules for protected health information.
No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to limit risk. If we ever discover a breach affecting your information, we'll notify you in line with applicable law.
