Optical Kitchen™, is a revolutionary idea in eyewear and the process of picking out frames. Gone are the days of being constrained to only the colors some anonymous corporation said you should wear. Optical Kitchen allows you to select from a wide selection of frames and then create the color you want, the only limitation is your imagination.

The Process

We have designed and created over 30 styles in a myriad of colors to choose from. We call these our ready-to-wear collection. If you happen to select a frame in a shape and color already created, Great! But, what happens when you find the perfect frame but its simply not in a color you prefer? Well, let’s step over to The Optical Kitchen™

First we started with your design, frame in hand it’s time to select your colors. With a rainbow of choices you’ll create your palate from which you’ll be designing your frame. If the ocean inspires you, blue, clear, milky white and maybe some green will remind you of sun soaked days on the beach. Possibly the colors of your garden is what your thinking. Truth be told the only limitation is your imagination.

Your palate is selected and now comes the real fun!

Simply place the colors into the Optical Kitchen™ mold in any pattern you would like. You’re making the plate from which we’ll be cutting your frame from in the next few days. Let your creativity shine as this is your creation. Only one rule, your final plate needs to weigh 125 grams. Beyond that, create away!

In this case we have been inspired by a garden. So green, lavender, marigold, white and clear were chosen. We always like to add a little clear as it allows light to shine through and makes the other colors pop.

Want to see what your frame will look like when its done?

No problem! We have created special masks that let you see your colors on a the frame. Simply place the mask over the Optical Kitchen™ mold and take a peak. Don’t like that bit of color on that edge? no problem just lift the mask, make the adjustment and look again.

Once you have finished designing your plate, one of our frame makers will press the mold and make the final plate. We’ll send you an email showing you what it looks like. This plate was designed with the idea of a clients garden if Monet were to imagine it.
